We're happy to report that people have already been inquiring about purchasing advance tickets for Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival. Advance tickets will soon be available at the Dipson Market Arcade Film and Arts Centre, and online at the Dipson Theaters website:
$8.00 per block (1 or 2 shorts and 1 feature) every day, Wed Oct. 17th - Sunday, Oct. 21st.
$20.00 per day pass every day except Saturday; this means three blocks Wed, Thurs, and Fri, and four blocks on Sunday.
$25.00 day pass for Saturday (four blocks).
Be sure to hang on to your ticket stubs! The Bijour Bar and Grill, next door to MAFAC, offers a 10% discount on meals to theater patrons who present ticket stubs.
We are offering a Deluxe Gold Pass which includes entry for one to every screening and includes our awards dinner at the Screening Room Cinema Cafe on Sunday, Oct. 21st. This pass costs $100.00, and must be purchased before the festival begins. Contact Buffalo Screams for details, this pass will not be available on the Dipson website.
The Comfort Suites Downtown, our official festival hotel, has reserved 12 additional rooms at the discount rate of $109 per night, available on a first come, first serve basis; when these rooms are gone, no additional rooms will be available.
Our Honorary Chairperson, Debbie Rochon, and our Special Guests Paige K. Davis from POP Cinema and Sam Qualiana from Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast, plan to be on hand for the majority of the festival; Rochester filmmaker Chris Seaver, who will receive our Genre Spirit Award, will be available as time permits. All guest appearances are subject to cancelation.
There are many ways that filmmakers can promote their films at Buffalo Screams. The Market Arcade Film and Arts Centre has a large lobby, with room to set out postcards and post flyers and mini-posters. Because the theater is a multi-plex, there will always be patrons for other movies milling about, and attending filmmakers are welcome to hand out promotional materials.
We offer a perk to our attending filmmakers: we maintain a "community table" for free where copies of youir films can be sold. We have a 2-film limit per filmmaker; if you need more space than that, you'll nee dto purchase a table (unlike conventions, we're happy to allow people to share tables).
We look forward to making you scream!
