Bluehost Review – Best Webhosting Company For 2021 Or Not?

In this Bluehost review, we will go over nine pros and two cons that I found as a real user since 2017. Now I do not want to take up too much of your time in this article, so I will give a brief overview first for anyone who is in a rush, but if you do have a few minutes spare, I would highly recommend reading the whole article.

In a nutshell, all Bluehost plans offer their customers 24/7 live chat, unmetered bandwidth, and five email accounts. Similar to many other website hosting companies, they offer their new users a free domain for the first year. Their plans start from two dollars and ninety-five cents a month, including improved security backups and a free SSL certificate; these have to keep your blog or website protected and safe.

Over the last 24 months, performance has been excellent. Bluehost is clearly at the top with its uptime of 99.99% and a speedy load time of 405 milliseconds or 0.4 seconds.

After this brief overview; now, let us get into the nine pros and two cons of Bluehost web hosting.

Nine pros of Bluehost

Advantage number one: best uptime of 99.99% throughout the year

Uptime is one of the most critical aspects when choosing a web host. After all, if your site is down, your users cannot access it. So consistently good uptime should be one of your top priorities. With Bluehost, you have nothing to worry about with the 99.99% uptime guarantee Pro.

Advantage number two: Speed

The lightning-fast load speed of four hundred and five milliseconds on average is one of the most robust pros of Bluehost. A report from Google last year found that the vast majority of mobile web sites are way too slow. That’s a problem for two significant reasons Google’s mobile-first index can either elevate or hide your site. In user searches, based on their loading speeds, studies show that slow websites usually translate into lower sales so after uptime. Your host page loading times are the second most important thing that can make or break your site success, and it is safe to say with an average load speed of 405 milliseconds. However, not the fastest web hosts out there, Bluehost is definitely in the top five and will leave your visitors very pleased.

Advantage number three: Pricing

Bluehost has one of the low introductory prices in the market; if you were to check out the starting prices, you would notice the lowest advertised price is three dollars and ninety-five cents a month. That’s a pretty good deal, considering this supposedly reduced already from $7.99 a month initially. And for that price, you get pretty much everything you need for a single website; that includes 50 gigabytes solid-state drive storage, a large bandwidth, a free SSL certificate, and much more.

Therefore, you will be getting a good value for the price plus the consistent uptime and page loading speeds. However, the good news is that I have been able to work out a deal with Bluehost for my readers that takes the starting price down even further to only 2 dollars and 95 cents a month. However, this price is subject to change depending on when you are reading the review; it might have changed already.

Advantage number four: Security

Bluehost provides robust security options, even though they are one of the cheaper options on the market. I’ve been pleased to see that they don’t cut too many corners or skimp on any critical features like security. Bluehost delivers many good security options by default, including the free SSL certificate for all plans, a domain privacy feature; this prevents hackers from finding and using personal details for phishing schemes to trick you or others into handing over sensitive information.

When you use Bluehost, you also get a lock to help prevent malware attacks, which are unfortunately reasonably common on WordPress sites. You also get guard, which is another form of protection that provides daily backups to roll back previous versions of a hacked site.

Bluehost package also comes with spam protection for your email; this prevents anything suspicious from getting into your inbox.

I believe this is a decent security package to keep your site safe and sound front.

Advantage number five: Features and integrations

Bluehost comes with many integrations, apps, and e-commerce features beyond the included security features. It also provides access to a massive number of different apps and integrations so you can use the most popular services on the web.

For example, you can install WordPress with literally just a single click. You can also install other popular content management systems (CMS) like Drupal Joomla, run an e-commerce shop, and more.

Bluehost will include access to a content delivery network (CDN); these hosts your images and large files, taking back work off your servers. This feature helps deliver content faster to users around the world and keep your site quick.

Advantage number Seven: WordPress friendly hosting

Bluehost is the official recommended host, as you can see on the WordPress official website. WordPress is the most widely used website platform on the market, and they only officially recommend three hosting partners to use with a WordPress site those are Bluehost, DreamHost, and site ground. Of course, you can use almost any web hosting company to create a WordPress website, but the fact that Bluehost is one of the few officially recognized partners is very encouraging. As I mentioned earlier, you can install WordPress on Bluehost websites with literally just one click.

Advantage number eight: Guarantee

Number 8 is going to be their 30-day money-back guarantee. Getting the best deal on web hosting usually means prepaying for a few months a year or even several years at a time, Bluehost is no different, but they do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all of their plans. The 30-day money-back guarantee allows you to try out the service to gauge your performance and then still ask for a refund if you are not completely satisfied.

Advantage number nine: Customer support

Last but not least is going to be customer support. Bluehost offers one of the best customer support of any web host I have ever tried, it’s 24/7, and they have everything from a knowledgebase to live chat email ticket supports and even phone support.

I have never had an issue with the support; I always reply within a couple of minutes and solve my problems very quickly. I usually use the live chat just for convenience.

So there we have it for our nine pros, and as you can see, Bluehost performs pretty well across the board. However, there are two cons that I would like to mention briefly.

Two cons of Bluehost

Disadvantage number one: high rates

The unreal rates problem is a common issue in the web hosting industry, but the best way to get the lowest possible hosting price is to prepay for one, two, or even three years upfront. On the one hand, the monthly price is low, but on the other hand, prepaying for a more extended period, between twelve and thirty-six months, means that you’re not just committing to a few dollars, but around a hundred dollars.

Another thing to consider is the higher renewal rates after your introductory period expires; in this case, prepaying for a full three years of three dollars and ninety-five cents a month is a good deal. This way, you are locking in that low rate for as long as possible.

Disadvantage number two: site migrations

The second and final con that I have come across on Bluehost is that site migrations are not free. Most web posts that I have reviewed will move your existing website over to their service for free; they see it as a friendly service that helps make new customers happy. Unfortunately, Bluehost doesn’t do free migrations. They have a one-time fee of a hundred and forty-nine dollars and ninety-nine cents, including the migration of up to five websites, 20 email accounts, and any other database files. The migration will be quick and seamless for these sites, so you will not experience any delays or downtime. However, you have to pay for it, and spend so much is a big con to consider. However, if you are a beginner and this is your first web site, this is not something that you need to consider at all.

Overall, do I recommend Bluehost? Hell yes, I believe Bluehost is ranked among the top 5 web hosts for almost three years already.

The reasons why Bluehost beats other major hosting companies is what they offer for the customer:

strong security.

Excellent customer support.

A money-back guarantee.

Fast load speeds.

Reliable uptime and plenty of user-friendly apps.

All this for one of the lowest rates in the industry; 2 dollars and 95 cents a month.
